Well, I did make the right choice for my health and for my life. I changed for and with my family so we can live longer, and healthier, together. It pains me that I have told co-workers, neighbors and the like about all the benefits that I am feeling because of what Dr. Asa explains about in his book, yet it always seems to fall on deaf ears. I see them day in and day out with soda cans in their hands, eating terrible foods and it hurts that they don't listen. I can't get through, and things will not get better for them until they make the change. One co-worker actually made a joke about the fact that since Heart Disease isn't in his genetics, but Cancer is, that he will at least get to eat all kinds of fatty foods and not have to worry about dying from Heart Disease. What can I do? What can I say? There are those that listen, but they are listeners of the radio show and seem to be the minority from what I see. Should I be discouraged or not????

2 years ago I was in the emergency room with chest pain. All tests were negative however, and I was informed that I needed to loose weight, exercise and de stress. I was left with a very strong desire to make appropriate changes. After some research, I began a low carb diet, South Beach and Dana Carpender combined. My weight reduced by 40 pounds, my blood work was improved dramatically, Cholesteral lowered, and I became stronger and more energetic. I bought a bike and have ridden over 650 miles since. I had to buy new clothes and have changed my diet significantly, but now realize that what you eat is extremely important and mandatory for good health. I have become my own advocate for healthy nutrition and exercise. We need to take control, become aware, and make appropriate choices each day, to have a better tomorrow.
